Rock Island State Park Camping Weekend

Trip Difficulty Rating: Easy/Moderate

Transportation: We will provide transportation in rental vans. We expect the group to travel together, but please let us know if you have a need to drive separately.

Food: Meals will be provided on this trip, but bring money and snacks for the road.

Equipment: Comfortable clothing for a decent amount of walking in cooler temperatures is recommended. Proper shoes and clothing for sleeping are required. We may swim, so don't forget a swim suit!

Pre-Trip Meeting: Wednesday, March 20th at 5pm at the Govs Outdoors Center located in the front of the Foy.

Thank you for registering for our Rock Island State Park Camping Weekend! We're excited to GO with you! Trip Date: March 23-24, 2019 Departure Time:  TBD at Pre-Trip meeting Estimated Return Time:  TBD at Pre-Trip meeting Pre-Trip Meeting: Wednesday, March 20, 2019, @ 5:00pm at the Govs Outdoors Center, located at the front of the Foy Pre-trip meetings are mandatory informational sessions for participants prior to any trip.  Pre-trip meetings serve several important purposes: information is covered, questions are answered, paperwork is completed, participants are sized for any necessary gear, and most importantly, it is a chance for all participants to meet each other and the trip leaders prior to the trip. Trip Specific Information: Please note most equipment will be provided by Govs Outdoors and personal equipment may be evaluated by trip leaders.  You will be responsible for comfortable shoes and athletic clothing for hiking, as well as proper clothing for sleeping.   Rules and Expectations:   These trips are for you and your trip leaders are flexible to provide the best experience possible, but all trips are an extension of the APSU campus and the APSU code of conduct applies to all participants.  Any participant in violation of these rules may be removed from the trip with no refund and may incur expenses to return home early. Trip specific rules and expectations will be addressed during the Pre-Trip meeting.   Prohibited Items: All trips are drug and alcohol free environments.  It may be useful to have a small pocket knife (3-inch blade or smaller), but otherwise no weapons should accompany the trip unless directly related to the activities.  We encourage participants to refrain from using tobacco products during a trip. Refund Policy: Austin Peay State University Recreation Govs Outdoors reserves the right to cancel a program due to inclement weather, lack of participation, natural disasters, or extenuating circumstances.  In the event Austin Peay State University Recreation Govs Outdoors must cancel a program, a full trip refund will be provided. Should a participant choose to cancel before the trip registration deadline, a full refund will be awarded.  Should a participant choose to cancel after the registration deadline, no refund will be rewarded unless: • The trip is full and has a waiting list, and there is another person willing to take your spot. • Family/Medical/Academic issues that will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Assistant Director of Programs and the Recreation Programs Coordinator for Govs Outdoors. Refunds are credited to student, faculty, or staff through the APSU Business Office and may take several days.  Affiliates, guests, and those with community memberships will be refunded by check which can be mailed or picked up in person at the APSU Cashier's window.
